Optimizing/Superizing the Busycle
mk - 9/8/09 Rich Willits and I (Martin Krieg) had a pleasant time and time passed quickly as we wrenched on the Busycle for almost three hours:
- Replaced the broken axle on Left-6 station √
- Re-mounted the drive chain on Right-4 (we determined that the chain ring was bent)√
- Installed 7 collars on the tensioners that we found in the Boston parts bucket that we recently came upon.√
- Sanded and spray painted several spots that had started to rust. √
- Identified and centralized tools needed for emergency repairs and found a satchel to bring them along in √
- Cleaned the plexiglas shielding the transmission/jackshaft √
- Cleaned front of bus storage compartment √
- Added bungie cords for carrying unexpected items such as the occasional bicycle, etc √
Other (Busycle 1.1 stuff) still needed:
- 6 tensioner collars (Rich to see if they are a hardware store item)
- Mount tarp holders
- Add a horn (fix the horn that Martin has)
- Add a Bike rack
- Add Bottle holders
- Verify slow speed towing methodology
- Clean Busycle
- Clean and verathane Busycle steps
- Replace transmission/jackshaft plexiglas nuts and bolts
- Compile a Busycle checklist similar to what pilots rely on before they fly
